Ryan Potter - Photographer

Some details about me and my vision.

I've been facinated by images ever since I was just a child. As I've grown older, I've learned to appreciate imagery captured by a camera as a way to refresh and fill in the gaps of moments that pass by so quickly.

I first began dabling with an old Pentax 35mm, developing my own film and pictures in black and white. With the progression of time my creative vision has evolved, along with technology, and I've moved to digital color photography (though I still have a soft spot in my heart for the monochromatic). I'm drawn most to humans and beautiful landscapes... so my favorite images tend to lend themselves to portraits and sites I see when I travel. In these things I choose to look for the drama in the moment. I like dramatic lighting and my subject to be in sharp detail, helping me to potray a story or mood. My inspirations have been Trey Ratcliff and his excellent HDR images, and the friends and beautiful people (inside and out) I've had the pleasure to meet.
